My focus has been primarily on fashion (though I'm excited to delve into numerous other topics!) because it's a core element of self-expression that is exclusive to the human experience. Everybody participates in it in one form or another, yet, the industry itself has long portrayed itself as elite. There's a lot of judgment and exclusivity in fashion journalism that doesn't need to be there.
I enjoy exploring personal style in light of life stories--Our clothes are capable of speaking something deep about who we are.
My passion is seeing people honestly, genuinely and fearlessly express themselves, and fashion is a beautiful and comfortable step in the journey of self-discovery and expression.
I believe that if people can become more understanding, open-minded, and empathetic about another person's style... they'll be able to see the human in those clothes and start to understand and care about other things about their life. If we can see differences as something that is beautiful, then maybe we can start taking steps towards progress in other areas of life, stop demonizing people for simply having a different view, and have meaningful discussions that can lead to making the world a better place for everybody living on it, too.
