I have almost 20 years of experience writing product documentation for a wide range of audiences – IBM (information developer), CO-OP Financial Services (content manager), Ultimate Software (learning experience designer), and Cherwell Software (senior technical writer). I have delivered content in a variety of formats, including online help, UI help, tutorials, wiki articles, micro learning videos, websites, and social media outlets.
I have a master’s degree in Technical Communication from N.C. State University, where I concentrated heavily on UX design, usability, and human factors. Since graduating, I have taken three classes in virtual education and instructional design. These classes have helped me understand better how users learn and absorb content, and most importantly, how to transfer that knowledge into interface design and content delivery sites.
