Content Strategist, Copy Editor, Copywriter, Editor, Writer, Managing Editor

Professional writer with Fortune 500 corporate communications experience

I've been a writer and editor for more than 20 years. My background includes a strong emphasis in health care, including health management and health insurance. I've worked for such high-profile organizations as UnitedHealthcare, Optum, BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and WebMD. I've also produced ongoing content for health care systems and doctor's offices and even served on the writing team for a self-care book.

I've also written about parenting and relationships, fitness, legal and financial issues, business administration, manufacturing and more. I love how freelancing indulges my boundless curiosity by providing opportunities for me to immerse myself in new subject areas.

I have a passion for taking complicated subject matter on just about any topic and boiling it down to language that's upbeat, engaging and easy to understand -- whether it's for newsletters, ad campaigns, website copy, blogs, social media, business correspondence and beyond. I love developing and managing communications strategies to help businesses showcase their expertise and keep their customers and potential clients engaged.

I hold a bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing from Louisiana State University.
