I am a US citizen, born and raised in Dallas, Texas. I moved to the United Kingdom in 2006, where I pursued graduate studies in political science. After earning my PhD, I worked for two years as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Warwick, studying the politics of diaspora populations and protest movements in Europe. I have since worked as a teaching assistant or lecturer at three universities, and am currently at the University of Essex. I write mostly about US and European politics. I have also given interviews on political topics for several television networks, including the BBC, Al Jazeera, CGTN, TRT, ANN7 and France 24.
