Embracing the outcasts and pariahs within our narcissistic society.
Good morning,
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern New Hampshire University earning a BA in English with a concentration in Creative Nonfiction Writing; I minored in Legal Studies.
My fictional work primarily focuses upon Southern/Urban/Sci-Fi Gothic short stories, with an emphasis upon "flash fiction." Besides writing fiction, I craft narrative nonfiction essays focusing upon the corrupt United States criminal justice system, daily life in prison and the struggles long-term ex-cons encounter after decades of incarceration. Being an ex-con who served two decades of incarceration within the Orwellian confines of the Texas DOC (TDCJ), I write from a voice of authority.
Personal interests include Charlie (my loyal dog), making electric guitars from old cigar boxes, am a connoisseur of cheap bourbon, enjoy gardening, billiards, own a wicked weakness for tattooed ladies, the musical genres of "Delta Blues" & "Southern Rock," Vedic philosophy and never grow weary from reading the works of Edgar Allan Poe, William Faulkner, Anne Rice, Leo Tolstoy, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Hermann Hesse and Hunter S. Thompson.
