Writing has been an important part of my life since I was in my youth, when I helped create a club in my high school for writers. I chose to study the arts in college, but continued writing for campus publications. After graduating, I thru hiked the Appalachian Trail, a 2,198 mile footpath from Georgia to Maine. Everyday of this six month backpacking trip, I wrote in a journal. When I found some wifi, I updated a blog. My journal and my blog turned into the backbone of a still unpublished novel length book that was written not for the sake of writing a book about an amazing journey, but for the simple love of writing. Since that time, I have written for hiking oriented websites and publications, as well as taken over the blog of a formative outfitter along the Appalachian Trail. Now it is time to move upward and onward with my writing!
