More Than 30 Years of Experience and Have Done It All

I have experience as a copywriter, editor, proofreader and idea person. I have created web pages and sites, using PHP/MySQL, HTML and CSS. My dual experience in both the content field and the web field have made me valuable to many corporations.

I graduated college with a degree in English. I began my career on a trade publication, "T-Shirt Retailer," for the sportswear industry: researching and writing articles, proofing copy and boards, even typesetting the content. The periodical was #2 in its field and won several awards.

Next I worked as a Public Relations Specialist at Littlefield, Adams, Totowa, NJ. A company that published academic books in the fields of political science, feminist theory, sociology, and more. I wrote the copy for the book jackets, flyers, catalogs and press releases. I tried to get our authors booked on talk shows, generate newspaper interest, and other PR activities. I handled our table at various academic conventions.

I became a freelance writer and editor with Gordon Publications, Morris Plains, NJ. They published a large number of trade magazines for various industries. I worked on several publications as a writer and editor, including appliances, semiconductors, candy and computers.

After that, I spent nearly 11 years with an advertising agency, Wordsmith Communications, Parsippany/Randolph, NJ. I was a copywriter, editor and proofreader on the print and radio advertising, brochures, flyers, instruction manuals, press releases and annual reports. Our agency won several prestigious awards for our campaigns.

I went to the Chubb Institute, Parsippany, NJ, and learned web programming. I found work with the Creative Media Group, Chester, NJ. They handled the websites for a large number of businesses, including Thomas Register. I worked as a PHP/MySQL programmer on many sites. I won an award for my SEO on the parent company site, Alphagraphics. My chief accomplishment was building a Chinese/English bilingual website for "Plastics News," which took several months to accomplish.
