Chaunti Hatchett

Copy Editor, Editor, Writer

A compassionate, creative, highly adaptable student looking to find work in positions that will further expand her professional repertoire and broaden her passion for writing.

Currently a UCLA student studying Psychology with a minor in Creative Writing, she has lived all over the world, speaks fundamental Japanese, and is an avid follower of the fiction writing field both at an industry and art level. After years of interest-driven research and reading, she is quite knowledgeable of trends, authors, publication methods, and legal changes in copyright laws over the years. She observes the field with an eye toward its evolution. She completes her writing education with plans to pursue graduate education.
In the Colgan Center for Fine and Performing Arts Creative Writing Program she was trained to create, market, and curate all forms of creative and journalistic writing. She was a staff writer for the Ocean Deep Magazine, where she completed journalistic articles. She was the Features Editor of the Megalodon Magazine, where she led the charge on promoting and creating articles through contests, open submissions, and audience interaction. She was promoted to Editor in Chief of that same magazine. The Megalodon allowed her to explore her love of the literary world in all its forms, and all three positions have taught her to produce her best work at all times while respecting deadlines.
