Over 50+ years, I've hunted or fished in two handfuls of the 57 states, with experience from the South to the Northeast, Midwest, Great Plains, Texas and California. My regular stomping grounds are the Carolinas and sometimes Virginia.
I've written a regular local outdoor column for close to 30 years, with freelance work on that and other topics (humor, politics, media, culture, firearms, etc.) to spice things up. I served as editor-in-chief and supplied some content for a short-lived e-zine on bow hunting that I'm quite proud of, and I maintain a strong network of fellow outdoorsmen around the country, from which I draw material and inspiration.
"In my spare time" I have also operated an insurance and investment planning practice for over 30 years, communicating unfamiliar ideas and details verbally as well as in writing, in addition to creating written material for marketing, client service and education.
