Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Cynara has always marched to the beat of a different drummer. Her German mother and Japanese-Canadian father gave Cynara a Progressive and Socialist bend on her upbringing. Her mother's artistic practice also served as the inspiration for Cynara to pursue her calling. She has always had itchy feet and feels best when travelling (or in the studio). She is obsessed with Ancient Skills and building up a repertoire of skill based knowledge on fast disappearing crafts. She has a succesful online Etsy Store and is currently busy promoting her Artfinder online presence. She is often found wandering the wild areas of Catalunya with her small dog, Yuki.
