I am Donette Spencer and, for over 35 years, I have been informally writing and editing for my employers. I am gifted with the skill of attention to details which I attribute to my eight years of service in the U.S. Navy. I am a retired Ultrasound Technologist but my calling is to positively impact lives through writing. I get excited when I think about writing or editing documents. One of my professional accomplishments includes writing and editing "What to Expect at Your Appointment Today" documents to alleviate patient anxiety. Those documents were approved and placed in every patient room at the clinic. I am currently working on my first book but in the meantime, I look forward to editing other author's works so I can pay a few bills (smiling).
On a personal note, I am a spiritual person who treats others the way I want to be treated. I was born in Jamaica but my family moved to the United States when I was 10 years old. I lived in both Virginia and Florida for a few years each but consider Florida to be home. I met my wonderful husband, David, during our military service in California. We have been married for 27 years and we reside in his home State of Texas. We have two amazing adult children, Jade and Dalen and we all enjoy fishing, bowling, and playing board games together. I start every day with Yoga and meditation, not coffee (smiling). One last thing...I choose to be GREAT! Let's be great together!!!
