The son of Vietnamese refugees from the Vietnam War, Daniel Vu was born and raised in the Seattle, Washington area.

After graduating high school, Daniel traveled to Italy, France, and Spain for World Youth Day 2011 before attending college for a year and a half. When college failed to satisfy his wanderlust desires, Daniel traveled to Brazil for World Youth Day 2013 before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps.

In the four years that he served in the Marine Corps, Daniel traveled to Ireland, Kuwait, Iraq, Romania, Thailand, and Vietnam as part of his deployments. He served as an Office Safety Representative who ensured that his work office was in compliance with OSHA regulations, served as the Unit Administrative Representative and Courier on one deployment to the Middle East, was selected by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting agency as a Recovery Team Member and Vietnamese Linguist in his last deployment to South East Asia in support of the Prisoner of War/Missing in Action issue in Vietnam, all while training and mentoring three Marines under his charge as a Sergeant, the equivalent of a Human Resources Manager.

Upon completion of his enlistment, Daniel is currently answering questions on Quora in regards to topics pertaining to the Military, Traveling, and Life Experiences, while building a dropship business on the side.
