I grew up in rural Pennsylvania to working class parents and have a bachelors in History and Secondary Education as well as a minor in Mathematics. I am currently teaching high school math in Eastern Kentucky. I write to understand and process the world around me and so all of the pieces I've submitted are deeply personal, however I do have experience writing more technical and academic pieces. I feel confident researching and writing about a variety of topics including: education, school leadership, mathematics, American history, Appalachia, democratic education, systems of oppression/inequity, as well as reflective or personal pieces.
