Erin Lillis

Content Strategist, Copywriter, Graphic Designer, Writer

Voice Actor | Podcaster | Copywriter |Creative Strategist | Frontend Developer

As an only child in Los Angeles, Erin would entertain herself with a book of acting monologues and recording what was probably the world’s first podcast into her micro cassette recorder which she carried around claiming it was for her novel ideas. During the summers, she starred in the local day camp’s (unintentional) improv comedy performances but after the ripe age of something like 10 she gave up the stage and her dramatic dreams in favor of self-consciousness and awkwardness.

It wasn’t until her 30s that she rediscovered her innate Leo need to be a star and she’d return home from her day job of film marketing to whisper sweet words like “Press 0 for the operator” into her brand new microphone for actual paying clients. This eventually led to the creation of her podcast SubverCity Transmit, an LGBT-friendly home for speculative fiction short stories which she co-produced, wrote, starred in, branded and marketed.

In an effort to take her new voice acting hobby to the next level she began taking classes at the Groundlings (for improv) and at Kalmenson & Kalmenson (for voice acting). As a near direct result, she began landing more and more roles in podcasts and audio dramas.

In addition to her now regular audio fiction appearances, Erin has voiced several video game characters, audiobooks, eLearning courses, commercials, explainer videos and more. Some projects she can be heard in include The NoSleep Podcast, Congeria, Calling Darkness, The Sapphic Cast, Alexandria Archives, "Seeking Dawn" (video game), "Stifled" (video game) and much more.

Besides voice acting, Erin also writes fiction, hunts ghosts, consults for marketing companies and does web development.

Charmed - Which Witch Are You

As a freelance copywriter I was hired by Max Stax Media to craft the text for a personality quiz and scavenger hunt for CW’s reboot of the CHARMED franchise. Tasked with creating something magical, I dove into research of real Wiccan practices and spell work as well as Myers Briggs personality writings in order to combine the two into a working quiz that would identify Which Witch the quiz taker was most like. A secondary but related project involved the creation of a fictional but realistic prophetic spell. Users were led to the Instagram stories of other CW titles via rhyming two line hints which I custom wrote for each one of the shows in order to find ingredients. After finding all of the items, users were entered into a sweepstakes in order to win one on one psychic readings.

Far From The Madding Crowd social copy

AvatarLabs created a series of sharable social graphics for the Fox Searchlight film, FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD. When the images were shared on Facebook, Tumblr and Pinterest, the graphics were accompanied by copy that I wrote based on a set of keyword guidelines provided by the studio and research on Thomas Hardy’s classic story.

The Other Woman - Emoji translator

For AvatarLabs’ partnership with Fox and a strategic ‘young woman demographic’ marketing campaign, I developed an online “Emoji Translator.” Within the theme of a ‘Girl’s Night Out’ invitation designer, users could enter text that would be then checked against a database I created of words and phrases. The final output was a downloadable image with the user’s text represented as emojis that could be downloaded and shared with friends.
