I am a wife and mother of one son. I am also a breast cancer survivor! Born and raised in Charlotte, NC, I am a graduate of West Mecklenburg High School (C/O 1989) and attended Fayetteville State University. Currently I am enrolled as a student at Carolina School of Broadcasting where I am studying Digital Media and where I aspire to be a Voice over /Voice Commercial Artist.
On September 19, 2018, I received the news that no one ever wants to get. I heard the words that way too many people hear, "I'm sorry your biopsy tested positive for cancer." In that instant and the days and weeks to come I didn't know exactly what was going to happen. All of the doctor's told me it would be a long road ahead.
I started chemotherapy on October 15, 2018 and finished on February 27, 2019. On April 9, 2019, I had surgery (lumpectomy and breast reconstruction). I started radiation on May 31, 2019 and finished on July 8, 2019. TODAY I AM CANCER FREE!
