I'm Farmer Georgie.
That's a name I earned as a small-scale, diversified vegetable farmer for 20 years. It's a name I still wear proudly, even though these days I'm spending my time writing about farming and much less actually doing it.
But that's why I'm working for farm, farm-focused food businesses and the big new exciting 'crop' - hemp. Because I understand farm culture, I get farm issues and I speak farm language.
I also happen to be a trained journalist. I have a degree even! I'm a trained content creator who understands SEO, call to action, creating authority and all those fun things we talk about in content marketing these days. However, none of them mean much if your writer doesn't know the difference between tilling and plowing. Or what organic food really is. Or why hemp is legal and marijuana is not.
