Ginny Albert was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Early on she had developed a love for acting and left Atlanta to live in New York to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, where she exceled in Shakespeare. She also attended Parson’s School of Fashion Design; and took a course in Ancient Egyptian History at The New School. Before leaving New York, Ginny fulfilled a long dormant desire to visit Egypt, and did so with her archaeology instructor and several classmates from The New School. While there she climbed the Great Pyramid of Giza, visited the Cairo Museum, as well as the Tomb of Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings.
Upon returning to Atlanta, she worked at various law firms. But, alas, the arts beckoned again, and she enrolled at Georgia State University as a Film & Video major, while minoring in Theatre.
In 2007 Ginny published a romantic suspense novel entitled “Which Man.” She is a playwright, and an ink artist. In 2008 her ink drawings garnered 3rd prize at Smyrna, Georgia’s Spirit Walk Exhibit. Her art work has appeared at the Buckhead Library’s Black History Exhibit from 2016-2018; the Mechanicsville Library, and the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library in Downtown Atlanta.
In 2014 she co-founded Our Time 21st Century Seniors, Inc. (OT). OT’s mission is to motivate seniors 50+ to regard retirement as a new chapter, where their unrealized dreams come to life. Ginny runs the day-to-operations of OT, and receives heart-felt joy from working with seniors, who are so appreciative of the workshops and presentations offered by the company. From time to time she returns to her roots in the theatre, and does extra work in movies filmed in Atlanta, Georgia.
Ginny has a daughter – Fanette, an 11-year-old grandson - Jason, and a new little granddaughter - Amira Danielle Franks, who 2 years old. Being a grandmother (or Gwanny, as Jason calls her) is one of Ginny’s greatest pleasures.
