A university-trained journalist, I hit the ground running working various reporting beats until I found my niche in tourism and travel. I later deep dived into media relations and marketing, working for the public sector and then for the tourism industry.
Motivated by a desire to throw the spotlight on Greece's then-sluggish tourism industry which, today, attracts 30 million annual visitors, I worked as a tourism news reporter. Later, I took on the challenge of showcasing Athens to the world's biggest and most influential media in the run-up to the Athens 2004 Olympic Games as part of a small media relations team within a municipal body.
During the height of Greece's economic crisis, I reported from Athens for Reuters TV, where I further sharpened my reporting chops.
I then took a media relations role in a privately-run organisation determined to change perceptions of Greece as a travel destination and innovatively showcase Greek destinations and experience to an increasingly knowledgeable international audience.
