Born and raised in Houston, Texas until the age of five, it was quite a culture shock when my father up and moved the family to Folsom, New Mexico. We went from a town of millions to a town of 77.
Two years after the move, my parents divorced. Perhaps it was the culture shock that led them down this path. Or it could have been the hatred they always held for each other in the deepest part of their hearts. Seriously, either one.
Long story short: My parents' divorce, graduating high school one year early, getting my heart broken, becoming a bank supervisor at only 18 years old, all resulted in a well-rounded fella.
One who is good at writing and itching to make a career of it.
