I was born in Alleghany County, Va, a very small, very rural little town in the mountains along the West Virginia border. After attending Ferrum College, I gave into my wanderlust and moved to Connecticut, then Massachusetts (Go Pats!), and then Northern Virginia, before settling down in another very small, very rural little town in the foothills of the Shenandoah Mountains, just north of Charlottesville, Va. I married my college sweetheart (12 years strong!), and we have one awesome, spunky little blue-eyed 7-year-old daughter, an 11-year-old Mastiff, a 3-year-old Shih Tzu, a cat (he was rescued so we don't know his age), a couple of fish and some hermit crabs. I worked as an editor for a publishing company for 9 years before moving to full-time freelance, about three years ago. There's no turning back. I love this gig!
