Copywriter, Technical Writer, Writer

Writer of all things creative and technical

Although my first love is writing, particularly content and copy, I started my career, believe it or not, in engineering. After that, I taught for a short while, enabling me to hone my skills as a writer and becoming a published author of books for schools.

As a freelance writer, I write creatively and technically. My engineering skills make me a competent technical writer and researcher, writing about everything from clean power generation to automotive and aeronautical articles and manuals. I have also written a number of user and instruction manuals, including complete manufacturing breakdown (training) articles. When required, my articles can be specifically SEO-based, without losing the readability and natural flow of the piece.

I write for websites and trade magazines and I've covered a wide variety of subjects, including recruitment, law, life on an oil rig, the gender pay-gap, education and sport. I am a complete wordsmith and I choose not to be put into a 'specialist' box, as I really enjoy the business of researching and learning about new things, events and experiences that people commission me to write. I take a particular interest in encouraging girls to love the sciences and to choose STEM subjects. I also visit schools to talk about this. I have written extensively about encouraging women into the technical and engineering workforce.

As a technical author and auditor of quality manuals, I spent several years visiting companies to compile bespoke product, service and employee information documents. One way or another, I've spent most of my adult life writing for others. My articles are very reader-friendly and easily-editable for future-proofing and version control, if they need it.

If your requirements are very detailed or technical, sometimes requiring UK site visits, then this isn't a problem. I am well used to this.

Please get in touch and let me know what I can do for you. I will cover almost any subject matter, so I look forward to hearing from you.
