Jennifer Costa is a freelance writer, content creator, blogger and consultant with a heart for making a difference in her community. She began her career in the non-profit world in 2002 and gained extensive knowledge in the areas of program development, grant proposal writing, small business management, non-profit accounting and marketing. Her book, The Conscious Parent's Guide to Positive Discipline (Adams Media), was released in February of 2016.
Jennifer served as Executive Director and Chief Programs Officer with Harvest Food & Outreach Center of St. Lucie County (2009-2015) and provided targeted behavioral case management for Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach (2002-2008). She is a competent technical writer who has crafted proposals for private foundations and government entities which resulted in hundreds of thousands in awards for the agencies she has served.
A passionate instructor, Jennifer has provided workshops to numerous non-profit organizations. She is a "Bridges out of Poverty" certified trainer.
Jennifer is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and served on the National Philanthropy Day steering committee from 2012-2014. She sits on the Advisory Board for Milestones Developmental Center for Autism in Vero Beach. She also served as a member of the Phi Sigma Sigma Alumnae Association (Regional Alumnae Chair 2004), Lutheran Church of the Redeemer School Board Member (2008-2009) and Treasure Coast KidCare Coalition (2009-2011).
As a "military brat" Jennifer had the opportunity to travel the world before settling down in South Florida, where she graduated from Florida Atlantic University.
