Jennifer Halligan

Content Strategist, Editor, Writer, Managing Editor

Web Content Manager, Creator and Editor with a wide range of experience including Web Design, SEO, Social Media and more!

I'm an experienced writer and editor, having written a clean, engaging, easily digestible copy for numerous publications on tight deadlines on a full-time, contract, and freelance basis. I have experience managing staff writers and freelance writers across all sports with an emphasis on professional baseball.

I'm well versed in AP style and have worked in various television, print, and digital media roles. During this time, I became skilled in SEO best practices and multiple content management systems.

Experienced working remotely, I am well versed in the many applications used to help teams communicate effectively and efficiently despite living in different places and time zones, including but not limited to Slack, Skype, and Zoom.

Skilled in social media, I have built a following of thousands on my profiles by creating relevant, inviting content. I've managed several publications' social accounts, helping to increase follower numbers and interaction and growing traffic on the website. I've helped launch and monitor successful ad campaigns across all major social platforms.

The breadth of my experience extends beyond sports and into the political venue. I started a curious volunteer in 2004, walking precincts, working phone banks, and facilitating events for local politicians' campaigns. That led to working with Obama for America beginning in 2006 as the Volunteer Coordinator and eventually becoming the Communications Coordinator for my Congressional District.

After an accident in 2012 that left me able to work remotely from home, I decided to try my hand at blogging. As an inexperienced blogger who graduated from college when MySpace was the only central social media platform, I had to teach myself to create content or a digital audience. By May of 2013, I launched my baseball blog, which I fully designed and have maintained since. Soon after, I was offered a writing position at a more prominent blog, and my career working exclusively online from home was born.

A proven researcher and quick learner, I can write exact, quick copy on most topics, regardless of having experienced working professionally in the industry.

I am currently seeking a full-time remote position to provide more consistency and stability than working as a freelancer. I may be unable to commute to an office daily or relocate, but I can accommodate travel to the office or events as needed.
