Life's a journey not a destination

Jessica Ayers is a seasoned musician turned successful freelance writer. Before shifting from music, her primary focus was on songwriting. She wrote, recorded, and produced a professional full-length album with her late husband/guitarist, Justin Ayers, titled Make Believe. The album is available for download on iTunes.

After her husband passed away in 2014, Jessica shifted her focus to grief blogging and motivational work by launching her blog, The Singing Widow. Her blog continues to reach people all over the world, and in 2017 and 2018 the site was awarded top widow blog by Feedspot.

In 2016 she joined POPSUGAR as a freelance writer in order to share her personal essays with a much wider audience. She’s since been published on POPSUGAR over 36 times and continues to write for the network, which reaches 1 in 3 millennial women, on a weekly basis. In 2019, Jessica started writing for Love What Matters which has a following of over 8 million people on Facebook and over 300 thousand followers on Instagram.

In 2019, Jessica published an essay in the book "The Eye of the Storm" about her experience with a category 5 hurricane (Hurricane Michael) that hit her hometown of Panama City, FL in 2018. Jessica will graduate in May of 2020 from Florida State University with a bachelors in professional communication.

She is currently working on publishing her first memoir.
