I'm an educator who loves science, the environment, creativity, architecture, and much more.
I am an experienced curriculum developer with a demonstrated history of working in the e-learning industry and a passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education. I am relentlessly committed to improving academic and social outcomes for students throughout the United States. I strive each day to ensure that students have equitable access to an excellent education that will prepare them for the college, career and future of their choice.
I am currently working to equip elementary school students with the skills necessary for high-demand jobs in computer science. I am doing so by developing curriculum and coaching teachers in successful classroom implementation strategies with Code to the Future.
Previously, I worked developing rigorous and innovative STEM curriculum for the edtech and video game industry. In this role, I worked with world-class educators and top-tier multimedia producers to create interactive middle school science content.
My previous work as a highly-effective educator helps me to connect abstract concepts to practical experiences in the classroom. I have shown excellence in instruction by leading my students to significant gains on multiple measures (including on state standardized testing). Furthermore, my leadership generated district-wide change in processes and curriculum. My experience teaching children, facilitating professional development, and instructing graduate-level courses represent my strong presentation and communication skills.
I have a Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T) focused in Secondary Education and Science from American University and a BS in Chemistry from St. Lawrence University.
I am truly passionate about my work and love connecting with creative folks that share this passion. Feel free to contact me to connect.
