They say that that your habits as a child can reveal much about you as an adult. And one of my main hobbies as a child - reading - has stood me in good stead in my career. Back then, when I was not reading, I was writing stories, creating magazines, spinning characters in my head. And now I read whenever I can, am always looking for something new to learn and for ways to improve.
It came as no surprise to those who knew me that I chose to study for a degree in Publishing and then progress into the business of magazine publishing upon graduation. From that start, I have built a career in editing, writing, proofreading and copy editing, and communication.
Setting myself up as a freelancer has just been a natural progression along this path. And it's an ongoing journey that fills me with excitement each day.
