I'm a part-time freelance writer from Houston, Texas seeking to expand my writing portfolio and eventually move into a full-time writing role. I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing with a minor in business in 2017 from Texas A&M University, and during that time I wrote countless flash fiction and creative non-fiction pieces for my creative writing courses. I also spent four years as a journalist for the daily, award-winning student newspaper, where I wrote over 150 articles ranging from topics like immigration, lifestyle, sports (specifically, mixed martial arts/UFC), current events, and science & technology, and conducted over 300 interviews with multiple sources. During my four years at the newspaper I held the role of news editor, managing editor, and editor in chief, which entailed copy editing dozens of articles on a nightly deadline. In 2016 I interned for a marketing company where I did extensive research and wrote multiple blog posts with a spotlight on cybersecurity, malware, lead generation, social media, and content creation. I also conducted research and helped edit multiple white papers. I'm a firm believer in producing content that is engaging, topical, succinct and well-written. My writing and editing experience covers a wide range of topics -- from immigration to technology to mixed martial arts -- and I typically find my best voice when writing about real-life situations that leave a lasting impact on a reader or spark inspiration and feeling. If that's what you're looking for, I'd love to help you.
