Kirsten Mickelwait

Content Strategist, Copy Editor, Copywriter, Editor, Ghostwriter, Writer, Managing Editor

Content professional with deep experience across a range of platforms and industries

In this age of blogging and social networking, there’s a growing need for professionals who are actually trained in the fundamentals of solid writing – who have an instinct for the rhythm of language, who know when to follow and when to break the rules and, above all, who know how to tell a good story. This is as important in new media as in traditional communications.

I have an English degree, and I'm licensed to spell. I can spot repetitive sentence structure or dangling modifiers from fifty paces. What's more, my copywriting skills have been informed by my personal interest in fiction writing. I’m deeply interested in story arc, voice, and dialogue (or compelling quotes), and regularly read emerging authors to discover new narrative styles.

Beyond the words, I’ve also developed a keen eye for visual assets, and love to collaborate with designers, developers, photographers, and other talent to develop the strongest possible messaging for each project. I'm always looking for talented partners and new creative challenges.
