Laura M. LaVoie is a professional writer living in the mountains of North Carolina in a 120 Square Foot house with her partner and their hairless cat, Piglet.
She spent nearly 15 years in the temporary staffing industry before transitioning her career to writing full time. She works with multiple clients, including marketing companies and small businesses, to maximize their online blogging presence.
Laura is a co-founder of Asheville Small Home Advocacy Committee, dedicated to making tiny homes more legally viable in the city of Asheville, NC. She is also half of the administrative team for the NotMom Summit, the only conference for women without children, held in Cleveland, OH. Laura worked with the Zulu Orphan Alliance in 2011 to build a shelter for orphans and other vulnerable children living near Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
Laura also takes time to work on her own projects, currently a novel, and enjoys traveling, craft beer, and general nerdiness.
