I am a professional reporter, writer, editor, and photographer.
I’ve covered all the major sports (football, baseball, basketball and hockey) at both collegiate and professional levels. I’ve also covered extreme action sports (surfing, skateboarding, motocross, mountain biking, wakeboarding, and snowboarding).
Right now, I am working at KNBR, a Cumulus Media radio station and flagship broadcaster of the Golden State Warriors, San Francisco 49ers, and San Francisco Giants. I produce original content for KNBR.com, write breaking news and feature stories, copy-edit features, and create sharable online content focused on our radio content for social media outreach.
Last year, I was the first journalist to join the action-sports social network start up Soul id. I established their online content production process and covered major action sport events such as the U.S. Open of Surfing and Pro Wakeboarding Tour. I interviewed world-class athletes including surfers Sally Fitzgibbons, Pedro Barros, and Kolohe Andino; skateboarder Harley Clifford, and the industries best extreme sports photographers including Barbara Britvin and Tait Trautman.
During my collegiate career, I was the sports editor of Chico State's award-winning student newspaper, The Orion, where I was named 'Best Sports Writer' in 2015. Our publication was awarded 'Best Overall Writing' and second best 'Overall Excellence' in 2014. I led a team of writers, designers, and editors that produced weekly features and covered games through social media. Our team created innovative content on a weekly basis, and pushed the boundaries of student journalism with groundbreaking initiatives through the latest mobile/social apps and websites.
I will complete my undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Chico State in December 2016.
I am available for writing and editing assignments immediately.
