M.J. Moye

Copy Editor, Copywriter, Editor, Ghostwriter, Writer, Managing Editor

Versatile writer adept at learning new subject matter and adopting wide range of mediums, voices and styles.

More than 20 years of writing and editing experience bolstered by an M.A. degree in writing from The Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. from East Carolina University with a double major in English and History. I have worked as a journalist and editor for newspapers in North Carolina, and for newsletters in Washington, DC, and served as the manager of communications and public affairs for an environmental lobbying group.

I have worked as a freelance writer/editor since 1998, providing editorial assistance to companies and individuals in need of written material for reports, websites, newsletters, books, press releases, articles and any other medium reliant on the written word. In recent years, the bulk of this work has been web-based, with the development of 18 websites, content for 100s of others, and current blogging for six different websites.

I have also served as communications director for a company that researched and examined demographic trends to determine their impact to the economy, on both the macro and micro levels. Along with demographic research, I was responsible for writing and editing the company's newsletters and website, and wrote and edited reports for specific clients.

Currently serve as researcher and editorial consultant for another demographic research firm, and have been serving as content manager for a real estate website since 2011.

Recently co-authored a non-fiction book—"Upside: How to Profit from the Profound Demographic Shifts Ahead"—which was published by AMACOM in May 2017.
