Marisa Readus

Marisa Readus is a passionate creative copywriter, author, and motivational speaker who originated from Birmingham, AL, but now resides in Dallas, TX.
She began her writing career in 2005 when she wrote her first book “You Are What You Speak”. Marisa, was encouraged to write the book after having woke up in the middle of the night with a simple title.
Although her gift to write has always been within her she didn’t realize her first poem in fourth grade was only the beginning. Marisa states “my gift chose me. I would have never chosen writing, because most of my life I didn’t think I was smart enough”.
Her life is a representation of overcoming, endurance, and faith beyond fear. The journey of her life is the foundation of her many inspiring stories.
Having served time in prison, a single mom, homelessness, and domestic violence one would think she would stop. Marisa States “I refuse to stop and settle, I had no choice but to keep going. I knew life had a lot offer me, even when I didn’t see it”.
As a result of the positive outlook she has been a content writer for the “Myriad Gospel Countdown”, motivational speaker, and published author with “Brown Girl’s Books”.
