You deserve to have engaging narratives, lucid analyses, and convincing conclusions. My 30 years of writing have resulted in over 60,000 pages of compelling content.
Education and Work History
After law school, where I served as a research assistant for three professors and was published in the U. Mia. L. Rev., I was a judicial clerk in the federal appellate court system. There, I wrote hundreds of memos and proposed opinions for the judges of the Fourth Circuit with an acceptance rate of over 99.5%. Afterwards, I spent several years at the Manhattan headquarters of the largest, and recognized leader of, plaintiff-side securities-fraud class actions. Included in the thousands of pages of material I composed for use in court and by the firm's partners and co-counsel, I wrote an appellate brief that helped the firm win reversal of the district court and and order directing judgment for the firm's clients.
After that, in-house counsel and corporate officer positions followed, all of which involved writing documents for consumption by investors, corporate officers, employees, and the public. I am proud to have helped those companies successfully pursue their business goals. Now, I use what I learned over the years to provide accessible, straightforward, and content-rich material for readers of many types in a variety of outlets.
My Writing Style
Throughout my years with the federal government and private firms, writing was the lion's share of what I did and what I produced. During that time I learned that facts can be vivid without being sensational and that arguments can be comprehensive without being overly complicated. I also learned that writing can be sophisticated without being too formal and that informative needn't equal boring. I always aim to disappear as an author, so that the information I relate speaks with an objective, neutral voice. My goal is to create understanding, not to display eloquence. That approach has served me well, and I'd love to put it to use in crafting written material for you.
Additional Information
Due to the privileged and confidential nature of most of my professional work product, including published documents written for clients, very little of it can be excerpted or cited here. I am glad to detail more about that work in private discussion or correspondence. And please ask me anything that would help you find the best fit for your project. I'm glad to be available to ensure you end up with the best piece of writing you could have hoped for.
