I’m a full-time travel and drinks writer, contributing to newspapers, magazines, and websites in the UK and worldwide. In addition I’ve written over 40 guidebooks, one podcast, three radio plays, a collection of my travel writing (Snakes Alive) and a crime novel (Strip till Dead).

I’ve written for people including National Geographic, The Times, American Express, Google, Microsoft, Waitrose Drinks, The Huffington Post and BBC Travel.

It was an amazing experience to visit what is one of the last juke joints in the USA. I was so bowled over by it that I knew I had to write about it, and fortunately sold the story to BBC Travel.
