I originally trained as a journalist, and worked as a writer, editor and publisher for business magazines serving the retail, health care and biotechnology fields for 10 years. After earning an MBA from New York University, I worked in media relations, and became Director of Marketing for a start-up software company in the Knowledge Management/IT Service Desk space. After that company's acquisition, I consulted to corporate clients in diverse industries on KM and IT Service Management. (I have professional certifications in both fields.) I headed the Knowledge Management function globally for the Office of the General Counsel at HP for three years, and acquired first-hand experience in enterprise software implementation with a Boston-based, agile start-up company, before launching Peter Dorfman Creative Services.
