Seasoned writer and editor with an expertise in travel and beauty
My name is Rebecca Taras and I have over ten years of editorial, marketing, and management experience. Some of my roles included working as an editor for extremely popular digital spaces like Refinery29, PopSugar, and Bustle; marketing manager for Cornerstone (aka Michael Jordan) Restaurant Group; and manager of a staff of 125 at one of Chicago's most popular salon/spas on Michigan Avenue.
In addition, I'm also a licensed esthetician with a solid background in the beauty industry, to include working at the Five Star Peninsula Chicago Hotel, serving as the co-founder/co-owner of an airport spa chain called Terminal Getaway, and (currently) working on launching a travel-themed skin care line and website called Well-Traveled Beauty.
Previous editorial duties included (but were not limited to) crafting photo collages, social media posts, and affiliate and/or SEO-driven email marketing campaigns. I also handled television and radio appearances, staff management/budgets, photo shoots, interviews, and anything else requested by my employer. I've worked at large corporations as well as startups, both of which required an "all hands on deck" mentality. I believe I am adaptable, organized, and driven because my professional background also includes entrepreneurial and management skills.
I'm currently a freelance copywriter and journalist in the areas of beauty and travel.
On a personal note, I've visited over 33 countries and currently reside in Paris, France.
