Reece Pocock is an Australian crime and historical fiction writer. He has an Advanced Diploma of Arts (Professional Writing) from Adelaide College of Arts. He served in the army before working on a business career. He worked in finance before embarking on a career as a novelist. He won first prize for his short story The Girl in the Red Beret in the Burnside Library short story contest. Highly commended for his Screenplay, The Soldiers in the Di Cranston Award and won the Wildscreen Award for his play Awake to Murder in the US.

Reece writes historical, crime, thrillers fiction, articles and short stories.
As a young man, Reece joined the Army; his military service was all in Australia.
After the Army, Reece enjoyed a business career in sales and management. He was instrumental in introducing the Bobcat skid steer loader to the South Australian market.
His novel, Refugee, was helped by Reece’s experience in the Army and his half-brother’s experience in war zones—which feature in the manuscript—allowed Reece to bring credibility to his story. Reece was a boy in Clare at the time the story is set, and some events described, happened in front of his eyes.
He adapted the novel into a screenplay which was highly commended in the Di Cranston award administered by the Fellowship of Australian Writers.
Reece has had about sixty articles published in, TheCheers, an online magazine. This magazine published twelve of Reece’s short stories. Other magazines published Reece’s articles.
Two short stories, The Girl in the Red Beret, and What a Dirty Little Town featured in an anthology—The Killing Words—published by Crime-writers SA.
Reece won the City of Burnside Library crime short story contest, with his story, The Girl in the Red Beret.
Reece has completed work on other novels—Murder on Display, a crime novel, The Politics of Murder, a thriller both published by Custom Book Publications. He has self-published -two books of short stories - Evil in the City, and Love and War- children’s books – Melissa Lane Girl Detective and Sarah Loves Ice Cream. Also, a self-help book- How to Achieve High Self-Esteem.
Shawline Publications are to publish Reece’s Latest novels – Refugee and The Killing Men
