Renay grew up in the South Carolina Lowcountry. Born in Charleston, raised in Summerville, she grew up surrounded by live oaks, azaleas, camellias, and lots of Spanish moss. The sights were full of old homes, beautiful blossoms, and strong trees. The air was full of Magnolia blooms and salty marshes. Her mother instilled a love of history in Renay as she carried her to the museums, old plantation homes, and musty libraries. Her father taught her to respect mechanical items as she watched and learned by his side how to work on vehicles. Both parents taught her about business by including her in the operation of the family automotive repair and maintenance shop they opened up in 1983. A shop she helped run until it's closing in June of 2019.
Now Renay uses the creative talents she honed through years of workshops and classes to write blog posts, books, articles, and white papers for others. She enjoys her work because it allows her to help those who don't have the time to write themselves. The hard work ethic her parents instilled in her continues to push her to do the best job she can while also listening to what the customer wants.
