Robert Silva started out as an electronics hobbyist and audiophile back in high school and has extensive experience in both electronics retailing, as well as writing the About.com Home Theater page and also for Lifewire for about 20 years. Experience in consumer electronics and home theater product sales and sales supervision with several major consumer electronics retailers, including Circuit City, Incredible Universe, Fry's Electronics, and Best Buy. Technical experience includes working in video production/editing, and in digital film restoration, colorization, historical color research, and color design. Served as a production-line episode coordinator for the first 2D computer-animated cartoon TV series, "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" under the name, Ron Silva. Robert has experienced the changes on how we access and experience home entertainment and his goal to spread the word on how everyone can enjoy that experience by providing guidance on what the average consumer needs to know.
