I am originally from New York City, but have lived in the west for the past 52 years.

I began a professional photography business in 1985 and at that time did primarily agricultural photography, including cattle shows, 4-H, FFA, Junior Rodeo, and Professional Rodeo events. After locating on the Central Coast, I became more heavily involved in nature photography.

I work very closely with the Morro Bay National Estuary Program and my photography has been featured at their Nature Center in the Morro Bay Marina Square and in most of their brochures and publications. My photographs are also featured on area interpretive signs in Morro Bay, Avila Beach, and the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve in Cambria.

My writing career parallels my photographic career. For many years, I wrote and photographed for public relations and marketing businesses in the entertainment and fashion industries. I hold a degree in marketing/merchandising from the Fashion Institute specializing in interior design and fashion and was editorial assistant for Harper's Bazaar magazine.

I specialize in lifestyle, people, travel, eco-tourism, nature, agriculture, business, folk music, historical and peace articles publishing writing and photography in national, regional, and local publications as well as online publications.

Locally I have written and photographed for the Tribune, San Luis Obispo Magazine, The Sun Bulletin, The Gazette, the Bay News, SLO City News, Coast News, New Times, Central Coast Magazine, The San Luis Obispo County Visitors Guide, and Morro Bay Life.

I have worked in public relations and marketing with the Ellie Sarratt Advertising and Public Relations Company in Tucson Arizona and produced newsletters for the construction and housing industry. I also worked with Moss Marketing in California writing articles for the local and state tourism bureau.

Nationally and regionally I have written for Country, Farm and Ranch Living, Sea, Westways, Sunset, Canoe & Kayak, Kayak Touring, Animal Watch, WildBird, Country Woman. Online I have written for Tours4Mobile, Pace e Bene, Waging Nonviolence.

I am a 16-year member of Rotary, beginning in Morro Bay Rotary and transitioning four years ago to Eco Rotary Club of Morro Bay, then Rotary Club of Morro Bay Sunset and in 2019 Rotary Club Cayucos. I have been on the Education and Public Outreach Committee of the Morro Bay National Estuary Program for 22 years and prior was the last president of the advocacy group Friends of the Estuary. I was a 16-year board member and public relations director of the Morro Bay Bird Festival, sat on the Morro Coast Audubon Society board and the Morro Bay Art Association board. I am currently Director of Yes We Can Peacebuilders, affiliated with the national Pace e Bene/Campaign Nonviolence and Nonviolent Cities Project.
