Originally from Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts, Shayn Almeida attended Green Mountain College in Vermont as an English major before taking time off to travel.
He attended the Musicians Institute in Hollywood CA., earned a degree Sound Engineering, and worked as a Product Specialist for Native Instruments.
Writing throughout high school and college, Shayn continued to write from within the music industry covering music production techniques, hardware/software reviews, new music reviews, and personality profiles for magazines such as URB, BPM, Future Music Magazine and, most recently, covering Arts & Culture for The Santa Monica Daily News and The Corsair Newspaper.
With a focus on Holistic Health, Arts, Music, DJ'ing, and writing about Dance Culture, Shayn Almeida is currently pursuing a degree in Journalism and Multimedia Storytelling from Santa Monica College.
