During her career, Shirin has explored her passions in life. She graduated from UCLA in 2008 and spent many years in academia. Shirin completed three intensive years in Clinical Psychology Masters Education at Pepperdine University where she was also certified in Trauma Focused CBT (crisis intervention with children, adults, and families) by the Medical University of South Carolina. She has been employed in a variety of fields and disciplines, acquiring valuable and life-enriching skillsets. She worked in Autism research at UCLA (CART- Semel Institute for Neuroscience & Human Behavior) and worked as a Behavioral Therapist (Applied Behavior Analysis) for children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders). Shirin has also spent some fruitful years as a Technology Transfer Specialist at NASA (Jet Propulsion Laboratory). During her time there, she was certified in Assertive Management at Caltech University (California Institute of Technology), did outreach, communications, and was a part of the Small Business & Innovative Partnerships Programs. She wrote for one of NASA’s magazines (Tech Briefs) and was in charge of new technology reporting, technology asset management, worked with content management systems, software licensing, and patents— in addition to other accomplishment and responsibilities. Shirin’s career spans from tech, business, psych, aerospace, to top notch booking agencies, music industry, event production, and restaurant & nightlife groups in Los Angeles.
Shirin is passionate about tech, music, social issues, human rights, health and wellness. She's loves learning, sound and acoustics. She is a classically trained pianist, is a master of a new instrument called the handpan, and is a musician who enjoys creating music, teaching, writing, and working on creative projects in her spare time. Shirin is a true renaissance woman, dynamic woman, and a "multi-hyphenate".
