I was born in Cardiff in South Wales and am first and foremost a writer. I was given the title Bard of Ely by Big Issue magazine when I was writing a column for the publication and living on the estate of Ely in Cardiff. I kept the title as my stage name for my career as a singer-songwriter and performer. I have played at Glastonbury and the Green Man festivals. in 2002 and 2003 I was a compère for the Avalon stage at Glastonbury as well, My song You're a Liar, Nicky Wire was rave reviewed in the NME and fronted the Taffia EP on Crai Records. I have written for Kindred Spirit, Welsh Coastal Life, Mediterranean Gardening and Outdoor Living, Permaculture, Prediction, National Federation of Pensioners (NFOP), and Living Tenerife magazines and the Tenerife Weekly, Tenerife Sun and Tenerife News newspapers. I am the author of Herbs of the Northern Shaman and Herbs of the Sun, Moon and Planets (Moon-Books).
