Tomas Burki has been a professional photographer for more than 20 years, with scores of magazine and book covers, exhibitions of world-wide travel, and graphic design for Fortune 500 companies all across the United States. Born in a small town of Charleston, South Carolina; Burki had studied film, music and cover art for the first half of his life, since he was 8 in fact. A bit of shy, awkward kid, Burki did a lot of freelance work for several years, honing his Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign skills.
In 2007, Burki made his first of what would become many trips overseas. His first trip was a small town in Italy called Montepulciano. There he stayed for 5 weeks and learned as much as he could about the Italian culture, which much to his surprise, was not that much different from his Hispanic background. Traveling with a little more than a bag of clothes and his camera, he made his way across the country, exploring and capturing all that he could.
